My favorite vacation is going to Florida. In Disney World, I got to meet Tinkerbell, Rapunzel, and Tiana. I got to see the Disney parade and got to go in the space ride. I got to go in a shell and see the story of Ariel. I got to go in a water ride and got soaked through my pants. It was fun but sweaty and wet and HOT! It rained like mad, like ten times.

A valuable lesson from this summer: I learned how to shuffle. I had to focus on my left leg then putting my left leg to the opposite side. That is one shuffle. I practiced a lot at Woodwind Tennis. Shuffling teaches dedication.

In school I really enjoy Valentine’s Day. We give away candy. I like Valentine’s Day because I get to spend time with my friends. Also, we can have parties. We give away gifts. Some people give some cards. Some people have cake. Lots of people play games on Valentine’s Day. We can have lots of food. Then we can watch a movie. Then we shower. Have a snack. Play on your iPad. Then go to bed and get ready for the next day.

My brother is my special person because he helps with my homework when needed. He cares about me when I got hurt. I got hurt when I was running. I slipped and he helped me by carrying me home and putting on a band aid.

This year I learned how to simplify fractions or add and subtract them. For example, 5/9 + 1/3. The first time I started to do it I thought it was hard but when I started to do it more and more it became really easy. Another thing that I thought was really hard was simplifying fractions. For example, 32/36. It looked hard but it became easy. I wonder how hard sixth grade math is going to be?

This year I recently learned slope. Slopes are an 8th grade math lesson. The formula for slope is M= x1-x2/ y1-y2. “M” is the algebraic letter for slope. Slopes are charted on an x/y graph. In order to find the slope, you take the coordinates of one letter and the coordinates for another. For example, A(-2, 4), B(3, -2). Then you place the numbers where it goes in the formula, M= x1-x2/ y1-y2. For example, M= -2-4/3-(-2). Then you solve it.  M= -2-4/3-(-2) simplifies to   M=-6/5. And that is the answer, unless you can simplify it more. Slopes are very easy for me and other classmates in my math class. Math is important to me because it is easy and I wouldn’t mind a job that deals with the acknowledgement of math. Albert Einstein is my idol and I believe one day I’ll become as smart as him. LET MATH LIVE ON!

In 6th grade, the whole grade went on a trip to Boston to Quincy Market. This is special because this was the longest trip, from 6:00AM to about 10:00PM. The best part of this trip was actually the bus ride because it took 3 hours to get there and 3 hours back, with 7 hours total in Boston. During the bus ride, we slept, talked, and ate until we got to the science museum. At the place, we looked at some real movie props from Back to the Future and Terminator. When we headed out, we went on a “duck” boat where we went around a lake learning about Boston. Then, we arrived at Quincy Market and bought food, gifts, and snacks. The time was running out so we left and headed toward the bus. We were sleeping, talking, playing, and eating. When we got home, we were all tired except my friends and I. That was the BEST field trip in my whole life compared to the Baseball Hall of Fame, Howe Caverns, and watching Hidden Figures. The End!

Present

I am good at science. I am good at coloring. I am good at reading. I thought about recess and doing Valentine’s.

– Age 7

Something I love about myself is that I got an A on my test. Also, I am kind to people. Also, I make people happy.

I am distracted by thoughts about ice cream.

– Age 8

I am smart. I am good at math. I am nice. I think about recess because it is fun and I can go on computers. I enjoy yoga. It made me feel relaxed. I could do yoga at home.

– Age 8

I love to go to the museum. I sometimes like to ask questions and go with my class. If iI go, then I will be smart.

– Age 8

I am good at tennis. I love to smile. When I was doing yoga, I was distracted by the thoughts of what was going to happen next. Yoga made me feel calm inside. It made me cozy and made me feel calm because it was quiet and warm and thats what makes me feel calm.

– Age 10

I am smart, I am the best at math, I can do anything I want to. A thought that I think I thought was about the sounds outside. It distracted me because those sounds are usually loud. I enjoyed the yoga. It made me let go of all thoughts I had. I could use yoga for exercise and I could use it when I get mad, which will never happen.

– Age 10

I promise I will pass the test and play for Albany High. I am the best at playing saxophone. I am good at tennis. When I do yoga, I am not that distracted because changing from right to left is instinct. I felt very calm during yoga. I can use yoga in my everyday life to relieve stress.
